who am I ?

They called me crazy,
but all I wanted was fish and hunt
I lived in the Great Plains of the US
I nearly stopped white settlers in search of land anf gold to steal them from their territories
I  was a hero for my people
After my  surrender to the US Army, I was stabbed to death in the back by a guard who thought I was going to run away

 My spirit now lives  on giant sculpture
When it is completed you will see me riding my horse and pointing to "the lands where my dead lie buried"
It will be the biggest sculpture in the world
Just now, you can only see my head and the job started 60 years ago !!
