Wigs in British courts to be abolished !

Some people thought they were anachronistic, out of date.
Others will be disappointed not to see these white fake curls made with horsehair !
Well, unless your case is judged in a criminal court, you won't see them anymore from January 2008 !

The tradition of wearing wigs in England comes from France. Because Louis XIV wore elegant powdered wigs, the English King, Charles II, who was an admirer of this trend adopted it in England. It was then back in the 1660s !

Now, who wears wigs around the world  apart for the Venise Carnival  or for Halloween maybe ?

In England, judges in court are required to wear them. Actually, they are still required to wear them until January 2008 ! After, they will ditch their wigs !

I'm pretty sure it was sometimes getting sweaty and a bit itchy under it !!
